Short List of Don’t Dos

Some wise individuals in our lives have given really good advice such as “don’t leave your current job until you have another job lined up” or “always make sure to have at least six months of living expenses on hand”.  I am not perfect in following such great advice as this, but as a real estate broker, I can detail to you, by experience that the list below will keep you out of trouble throughout your home purchase.

Purchasing a home? Avoid doing the following during the transaction:

 

1. Don’t buy a new car or take on a larger lease payment

2. Don’t make any large expenditure, such as furniture

.
3. Don’t quit your job or change industries

.
4. Don’t transfer sums of money into or out from your bank accounts

.
5. Don’t miss a payment to a creditor

.
6. Don’t open a new credit card

.
7. Don’t accept a cash gift without talking to your lender (there are rules about this)

8. Don’t spend your closing cost money!
